New Hair Cut
Got a new hair cut yesterday. It had been over a year sense my last one. I like it.
Last Night.
This morning.
Andrew was playing with some fake hillbilly teeth.
Serious vampire Tyler.
Silly Tyler.
Tim is wanting a picture for Birthday Direct. The have vampire teeth for sale with the Twilight party supplies. The picture now is kinda silly. However we can’t get the lighting right. Will try again later. Maybe outside in the sun light.
If you haven’t ever been to Birthday Direct please check it out. They have great deals on birthday party supplies and baby shower supplies. My husband designed the website and works there.
New Quilting Group – My Quilting Buddies
A dear friend of mine Tina, has started a new online quilting group. It is called My Quilting Buddies. If you like to swap or chat with other quilters around the world you might want to check it out. I am hosting a few swaps.
There are no sew swaps: 4 1/2 inch charms, fat quarters, fat 8ths, strip swap, and a layer cake swap.
The sew swaps are: a themed 6 1/2 inch nine patch swap, Scrappy Tennessee block, I’ve been framed block, Box quilt block, Stash buster block, and a wall hanging or table mat swap.
There are 3 different blocks of the month to choose from. There is also a barter board where you can post items you no longer want and list what you want for it. Very cool. I have traded blocks that I made but never made into a quilt and fabric I no longer wanted. We all have that moment when going through out stuff and think, “Why did I buy this?” Usually for me it was because it was on sale. LOL.There is also a list of great free patterns and tutorials.
I am hosting the scrappy strip swap, 4 1/2inch charm swap, and the 6 1/2 inch nine patch swap.
So please come by and say Hi and maybe join a swap. Hope to see you there.
Holly’s Flower Garden
I have been playing around with EQ5 this morning and designed this quilt. It reminds me of wild flowers.
Baby Shower Gift
Yesterday was my friend Brandy’s baby shower. She is due next month and having a boy. Her son Moses and Joshua were in kindergarden together. They have become best buddies. I made her this quilt. A flannel receiving blanket, 2 bibs, and a burp cloth. I was going to make more burp clothes but ran out of time. I still might make some more.
Playing with EQ5
I was playing around with EQ5 tonight. This is the first quilt I designed on my own.
It is a baby quilt.
Spilt Nine Patch Baby Quilt
I have been working on a baby quilt this week for a friend who is due next month. She is having a baby shower Sunday. I found the most adorable flannel monkey fabric and just had to get it. I was going to make this a disappearing nine patch quilt. Once I saw what one block would look like I had to change it. It was very busy. I hope she likes this. I am going to make a few bibs and burbs clothes to go with it.
Lost Tooth
Joshua lost his first tooth. It has been loose for a while. It was being stubborn and didn’t want to come out. The new tooth started growing in behind it. I took him to the dentist and they pulled out the loose tooth. So hopefully the new tooth will come in better now.
Elam Children at a Glance
This is Joshua’s good friend Moses. They were in kindergarten together.
My 1st Quilt
This was my first attempt at making my own pattern. I saw something similar hanging on the wall in the Cracker Barrel gift shop.So I went home and tried to make one. This was before I knew how to add a seam allowance. LOL.
You can see the puckers in this one. I sewed it like a pillow. I think I will stitch the areas and then stuff it a little to make a big turtle pillow for Andrew to play on the floor with.
