Here is the latest T-Shirt quilt that I made. It is the first one that I have quilted all over. Usually I just quilt in the ditch. It was fun. Not as bad as I thought. I love the way the white thread pops off the black sashing.

What kind of batting do you use with a T Shirt quilt?? I’m considering making a T Shirt quilt for a young man in our church, who recently lost his mother. She had saved T shirt fabrics (mostly from ladies shirts) and the bag was marked “for quilt”. I’ve never worked with T shirt fabric, so I’m not sure it is something I can do and make it look decent. btw, do you have any relatives that live in Brandon Florida? We’ve known this family for many years, and yes their last name is Elam.
I always use a low loft polyester batting. The t-shirts make a quilt heavy. I don’t like the extra bulk of a thicker batting and I don’t use cotton because I don’t want it to shrink when washed.
