When God Made Me He Was Just Showing Off Applique Bib

I recently was asked to make a bib and two burp cloths with a design that I have bought from Happy Applique. This is one of my most requested stitch outs. I stitched it out on a towel and sent it to my mother. She loves it.

The bib is handmade. I used a hand towel to stitch the design on and yellow chevron flannel on the back. No layers in between. I used my serger to finish the edge of the bib and velcro for the fastener. It was so quick and easy to make.

My Latest Applique and Embroidery Projects

It is nice and quiet this morning. This kids are in school. My husband and I got up early and got our work out in. I’ve had my cup of coffee. I”m debating on another cup to keep me going. I thought I would share some pictures of some of the things I have made recently. Most of them are for friends or family. The Bible scripture in the picture frame is for a silent auction for a church function. The appliqued H is for myself. The Alabama A and Nebraska N I helped a friend stitch out for her daughter. Her daughter is an Alabama fan and her room mate is a Nebraska fan. It is a house divided hand towel. I hope you all have a blessed day.

Happy Sewing.

Pocket T Shirt and a Hand Towel

I recently purchased the Fun Stitch Interlocking Ribbon Monogram from Designs By JuJu. I have stitched it out twice and I love it. It is simple yet elegant and a very sturdy stitch. I made a pocket t-shirt for a friend as a birthday gift using this monogram.

Here is the same design on a t-shirt for myself.

I stitched out this monogrammed hand towel for an Etsy customer. I love the navy blue chevron fabric.

Chevron Embroidered Sweatshirt

I made this chevron embroidered sweatshirt for my self this past winter. I love that the letter is filled with a chevron pattern. I bought the design from Hang To Dry. The design is called Chevron Script. If you want just the Upper Case letters you can purchase those separate from the set. They are quite beautiful stitched out.

I embroidered the Chevron Script on a sweatshirt for a friend as well. She wanted all three initials. I have a single needle machine and my biggest hoop is 5 x 7 inches. This sweatshirt required 3 hoopings to get it done. I didn’t get the A as close to the T as I wanted. Thankfully she was okay with it. It still turned out nice.

Pocket Tees and Monogramming

Yesterday I monogrammed the white sweatshirt for my friend Angie. I had to hoop it three times to use the big letters. I used the Chevron Font from Hang to Dry. I also made my first pocket tees yesterday. The coral colored t-shirt is for me. I used a Thirty One fabric swatch from my kit. It has cute flip flops on it. The second pocket tee is also for Angie. It is a surprise. She didn’t know I was making it for her. She loves lime green. The pocket is a gray denim fabric that was also from the Thirty One fabric swatches. The pot holder hand towel set is for a customer. She requested two sets. The other set has a Y on them with the same fabric. I made the pot holder. There is 5 layers. Fabric, Insul Bright, fusible fleece, Insul Bright, and then fabric. They are pretty thick. I used the La De Da applique frame from Planet Applique on the hand towel. The font on the pot hold and hand towel is the Elizabeth Font from Applique Corner.

Bama Girl Applique Shirt

I made this Bama Girl Applique Shirt for myself right before Christmas. I bought the design from a digitizer and then added the word Girl to it. We love Alabama football here in North Alabama. Too bad they aren’t playing tonight. I can’t decide if I will be routing for Auburn or Florida State tonight. Either way it will be a fantastic football game.

Valentine’s Day Applique Hand Towel

I made this cute Valentine’s Day Applique Hand Towel this morning. I know it is crazy to be thinking that far ahead already. The holidays creep up on me fast. I never get all the projects done that I intend on doing. I sold a few of the Christmas hand towels so I thought I would give other holidays a try too.

I made this blooming rose applique hand towel this morning as well. The blooming rose applique design is from Applique Alley. The fabric is Amy Butler. It has been in my stash for a while. My intention was to make a baby quilt with the Amy Butler fabric. I haven’t gotten there yet. 🙂 I can’t decide if I want to advertise this one in my Etsy shop or not. It took a while to stitch out.

Last but not least is a picture of the pajama shirt I made for my husband to wear on Christmas day. On Christmas Eve we open new pajamas and our Christmas ornaments. The applique letters are from Planet Applique’s Santa Alphabet.

Christmas Hand Towels and Stockings

Just a sample of a few things that I have been working on this week. I had a few Etsy orders for some Christmas hand towels.

I embroidered names on the stockings for a lady using the A Pure Heart Font from Applique Corner. I also attempted my first in the hoop coaster. I bought the ITH design from Five Star Fonts Embroidery. The Monogram Coaster turned out pretty good and wasn’t all that scary to make. (Big Smiles). I get nervous trying new patterns. I don’t know why. It took me a few months just to get my embroidery machine out of the box. I was so nervous that I was going to screw something up. And I know those babies aren’t cheap. My next new project is an ITH eye glasses case that is an owl. I need to get a certain stabilizer first. It should be interesting. Wish me luck!

The bottom right hand photo is a hand towel I made for my kitchen. The Christmas Light Alpha Font is from Applique Corner. The Frame 8 Applique Design is from Applique Momma. The bottom left photo is also a hand towel using Applique Momma’s Frame 2 Applique Design.

Chevron Fabric Oh My

I love love love getting goodies in the mailbox. I used to participate in a lot of swaps so I was frequently getting little surprises. Not so much any more. I had to sale way back when Andrew came along. This picture is my latest purchase from Etsy. I am trying to build up a small stash of Chevron Fabric.

The yellow polka dot and purple chevron fabric are for a t-shirt dress that I am working on.

These are pictures of a few of the items I have stitched out recently. My Janome is getting lots of love.
