Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? This year has just flown by. Where did it go. It seems like sense we bought our house life has gone by in a blur. We didn’t even do any Christmas shopping until last Saturday. Usually by now I have been done. I normally start buying gifts in September and start putting them up. I think we got most of what we are going to buy. There are a few odds and ends to get and stocking stuffers.
For the last two days I have been sewing like a crazy woman. A friend of mine and her husband make drift wood lamps. They made me a beautiful one out of cedar. I told them I would make them a quilt in trade for it. I had my lamp with in a month of the deal. I have been so busy and haven’t had time to start sewing their quilt together. I have all the pieces cut. Thank goodness they know how busy I have been and can understand why I haven’t gotten it started. So I figured that I would go ahead and get it going. I am using the Goose Creek pattern from Quilter’s Cache. I am using civil war reproduction material for it. It is very scrappy. I will post pictures later. They have a queen sized bed. So once I did the figuring I came up with needing 128 scrappy 6 1/2 inch 9 patch blocks and 128 of the other block. So for the last two days I have been sewing 9 patches. My shoulder is bothering me. I have to sew the strips together for the last 37 of the blocks and then I will have all 128 9 patches. So I will be half way there. Not too bad for two days of work.
Well I guess I better get going….God Bless.
