Most people when planning a spring break vacation head south. Not us we went North. We braved the snow and wind and drove to upstate New York to visit family. Most people from the south are surprised when we say we are going to New York. I have lived all but 4 of my 38 years in the south. Most people know that my husband is from Kentucky. It took us 15 hours to get there from Alabama and 16 1/2 hours to get home. On the way up we stopped in Erie, Pennsylvania for the night. We woke up to a dusting of snow on the truck.
On our way from Erie to Buffalo it looked like this.
Not too bad really. It cleared up once we got past Buffalo. Our first stop was my mother and Marty’s house. Here I am with my mommy.
We went to GG’s house after wards. We stayed with GG (Gramma Geri) because she has more room at her house and lets face it five people need some room. Especially when two of those people are over 6 feet tall. The next picture is of Thin Danly (Flat Stanley’s cousin) with the snow castle the kids were making at moms house.
Don’t you just love his I Love NY shirt. He traveled with us from Alabama. Here are the kids at GG’s House.
(Kayla, Timmy, Carrie, Carissa, Ali, Tina, and Joshua on the floor). We let Andrew practice being a photography. He took very random pictures and wanted selfies with us.
The boys went outside at moms house and started building a Fort that ended up looking almost like an igloo.
This is Barney. Chuck and Gramma’s puppy. He was very friendly and loved getting his belly rubbed.
Andrew gave Gramma Kathy a refresher course on playing UNO.
Here we are getting ready to leave and head back to Alabama. Can you see my ready puffy eyes. It was sad. We had a great week. Hopefully it won’t be 3 years before we get back up there. We sure do miss everyone but not the cold weather.
